Email QR codes encode a mailto: link with optional subject and body. Scanning opens the user's mail app with the message ready to send. Common use cases: a 'Contact us' card on a service counter, a job-application QR on a help-wanted sign, a feedback QR on a hotel-room desk.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter the email details

Recipient address (the only required field), optional subject, optional body. Keep the body short — long pre-filled messages feel pushy.

  2. 2

    Customize the design

Brand colors, logo, frame label like 'Email us'. Capy QR auto-protects scannability when you add a logo.

  3. 3

Download in the format you need

Export as PNG, JPEG, SVG, or PDF at up to 3,200 pixels. No signup, no watermark, no limit on downloads.

Frequently asked questions

Will the email send automatically?
No. Scanning opens the user's email app with everything pre-filled. They still have to tap send.
Can I leave subject and body blank?
Yes. Only the recipient is required. A blank-subject email QR is fine for general 'Contact us' use.
Which email app opens?
Whatever the user has set as the default mail handler — iOS Mail, Gmail, Outlook, Spark, etc. The user's setting wins; we have no influence over it.
Should I encode multiple recipients?
Avoid it for QR — multi-recipient mailto: links work but are confusing for the scanner ('why are these other people on my email?'). Use a single dedicated address like contact@yourbrand.com instead.
How big should I print it?
For a counter card scanned from 30 cm, 3–4 cm wide. For a sign scanned from 1 m, 10 cm wide. Always test before printing in volume.
