A circle QR code swaps the hard-edged squares for circular dots and round corner markers (the “eyes”). It still scans like any QR code, because the code itself stays a full square grid — only the shapes inside it change. This page opens the editor with round dots and fully circular eyes; pick another starting style below, add your colors and logo, and download PNG or SVG. Want the whole code inside a circular badge? See the tip further down.
- Circular dots and fully round eyes in one click
- Rounded-corner and soft styles if you want something in between
- Your colors, gradients, logo and frame label on top
- Scan-safe: the code stays a full square grid
- Download PNG, JPEG, SVG or PDF — free, no watermark
Do round QR codes still scan?
Yes. Scanners read the pattern of light and dark modules and use the three corner eyes to orient themselves; rounding the shapes doesn't change that pattern. What does matter is contrast (dark on light), a clear margin around the code, and a sensible size. Round eyes are a little more sensitive than round dots, so always scan a printed proof — it takes ten seconds.
Round dots vs rounded corners vs a circular frame
“Round QR code” can mean three things. Round dots replace each small square with a circle. Rounded corners soften the squares and eyes without making them fully circular. A circular frame puts the whole code inside a circle — that's a layout choice around the code, not a change to the code itself. Capy QR does the first two directly; for the third, see the next section.
Want the whole code inside a circle?
Don't crop a QR code into a circle — the corners hold data and one of the three eyes, so cropping breaks it. Instead, download the SVG and place the square code inside a circle in your design tool (Canva, Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape). A square fits inside a circle whose diameter is about 1.42× the code's width; make the circle about 1.6× wide to leave room for the blank margin scanners need. Fill the circle with a light color and the code stays fully scannable.
Where circle QR codes work best
Round styles shine wherever a QR code is part of the design: round stickers and product labels, coffee cups and packaging, social media avatars, event badges, wedding stationery, and logos with soft shapes. For tiny prints or long scanning distances, choose the round dots with slightly larger sizing — at least 2 cm (0.8 in) across for close-up use.
Cómo funciona
